              Replacement of zebra mildliners in India

Zebra mildliner are definitely one of the best highlighter in the market but staying in India as a student it can be costly at times if you are in budget.



 It specially make it hard if you are a stationery freak and can’t have them. Zebra mildliners are easily not available in the local stationery shops in India plus it retails around 750/- INR for only five of them in India. There are few packages which has around 24 retailing around more than 2000/- INR which is insane amount of money if you are a middle class kid in India.But for fancy purpose it can be bought if you are a studygrammer than its good to go with.





So, let me take you to the ocean of highlighters available in the market,yet to be explored for you.Let me start from the cheapest. I will link the product down below each so that you can easily buy it anytime you want.

1. Cello hi-lighter :

This use to retail in the pack of 5 vivid colours, yellow, pink, peach, orange and purple. They are easily applicable and accesible in school and office work. Now coming down to the price, if we buy it from local stationery shop each will cost you 20 /-INR , but online can be more cheaper around 85/- INR for the whole pack.The price is less cause India itself is the manufacturer of this highlighters.The best part about this highlighter is that its washable and non toxic.

2. Luxor hi-lighter :

This highlighter is almost same with the cello highlighter but the colours available are a bit different. They retail yellow, pink, green, orange and blue in their pack. Now coming to the price, it is same with the cello highlighters. It retails for 100 /- INR for a pack of 5highlighters. These are easily available in any local stationery stores and any supermarket nearby.Luxor itself is quite a premium brand which leads the hilighters to be quite bright and fluorescent and mainly it doesnt bleed through the paper.

3. Faber-Castell gel Textliner :

It retails with a set of 4 highlighter pens with assorted colours of red ,green, yellow and pink. They are marker based on a super smooth gel ink with retractable rotation tip. It almost feels like using a soft crayon. They can be found in any local stationery stores . It retails in amazon at 160/- INR whic is pricer but really worth the price ase they come in the shape of a pen which makes the user interface really great.

4. Camlin kokuyo office highlighter :

They retail around 5 in the pack with the colour of green, yellow ,blue, pink and orange. The colours are quite fluorescent. They are one of the most comonly used among Indian students. They are the most cheapest and easily available in India. They retail for 100/- INR for the pack , but amazon makes it even cheaper , it retails the pack around 80/- INR which is like a christmas deal.

5. Amazon basics highlighter :

They retail in the pack of 12 and 24 but with the same primary colours of 6, yellow, orange, green, blue, pink and purple. The colours are quite fluorescent . And the best part is the are in the shape of pen.But since their country of origin is China so it retails in India in a bit pricer side of around 400/- INR for 24 .They arent easily available in local stores too.

6. Treasure Mart fountain pen shaped highlighter:

They are my favourite cute set of highlighters. They retail 6 in numbers with the cute colours of pink , light peach, yellow, teal, blue and light purple, which i think are the rarest colour to be found in a highlighter except for the zebra mildliners. They retail for around 330/- INR in amazon which i think is the best alternative for zebra mildners after Milkliners.

7. Stabilo neon Hi-lighter pen :

They retail in the pack of 5 with the assorted colours of yellow, green, pink ,orange and magenta.They are in the shape of a tube and are water based. The country of origin is in czech Republic and is easily accesible in amazon with a  price of 280/- INR. But i believe it is in the pricer side as the highlighter isnt that much upto the mark as the price. But people still go crazy over it for its cute and unique tube shape.

8. Maped pen connect highlighter set: 

They retail in 5 numbers in a pack with the colour yellow, pink, green ,blue and orange. They are in the pen format which makes it ideal to carry in the pencil case. They have a triangular shape and a comfortable grip. Since i have used it personally it doesnt last over 6months if you are a studious student. The country of origin is china which brings us down to the pricing of 175/- INR per pack.

9. Staedtler textsurfer:

They retail for 4 numbers in a pack with the colour yellow ,pink, blue, green. They have a lightfast pigment ink which donot smudge as it dries quick. It has an ultra soft chisel tip approximately around 1-5mm. The country of origin is Germany so its a bit pricer in the Indian market. It retails for around 300/- INR in Indian market but the service provided is really premium and good to go with.

10. Generic amos dry highlighter pen:

They are one of the cutest and brightest highlighter i have ever used. It retails around 4 in number with the assorted colour of yellow, orange, pink and green. They are are almost same with the faber castel highlighters but in the shape of a pen which makes it easy to handle. They are wax highlighters which makes it smudge free. They retail for 200/- INR for the pack but amazon gives offer readily so it makes it around 150/- INR for the pack.

11. Tombow edge dual highlighter  :

They retail for 3 numbers in a pack with 3 assorted colours of yellow, blue and pink.The colours are quite vibrant and has a fast drying ink technology which doesnot smear or bleed through most papers. The chisel tip is around 3.8mm .The country of origin is in Japan so hardly local stationery stores will keep it. It retails in amazon around 126/- INR which is a great deal for this premium highlighters.

12. Stabilo swing cool highlighter :

They retail for 4 assorted pastel colours in a pack. The colours are so adorable it really lights up the notes .They are water based pocket sized highlighters. But since the country of Origin is in Germany is it almost as hard as finding water in dessert in Indian local stationery stores. So, for Indian students amazon is the only option. It retails for around 480/- INR for the whole pack but trust me the premium quality makes it worth it plus its cheaper and almost better than the zebra mildners.They have a small chisel tip, so its really good for people with small handwriting and also its easy to carry.

13. Flair ultra soft wax gel Hi-lighter :

They are pretty much easy to use. The retail in yellow, blue, green, pink and orange. But the sad part is that it will be very hard to find this hi-lighters in local stationery shops. The best part is that since its wax based, there is no question of bleed through on the paper. They retail for 100/- for the whole pack which brings each pen to be 20/- INR which i think is way better than those wet highlighters which i have mentioned earlier. Definately it does gives a premium look to your notes.

14. Mungyo powerliner :

They retail in the pack of 6 with the 6 assorted colours of yellow, orange, pink, green, blue and purple. Since this item is made in korea it will be hardly available in local stationery stores but you can always buy it frow amazon those are easily available there.They are pen type highlighters with around 3mm chisel nib with a quick dry technology. Now coming to the price, it retails for around 170 /-  INR for the whole pack which i think is a good deal to get a premium pack of highlighters.
